V&P Scientific designs and makes the largest collection of Magnetic Bead Separation Blocks in the research market. There are Separation Blocks for a large variety of microplates on this page and a separate page of Magnetic Bead Separation racks for vials, tubes, bottles and larger containers.
V&P uses the strongest available Neodymium Iron Boron (NdFeB) magnets varying from 48 to 52 MGO for these Magnetic Bead Separation Systems. Careful attention has been paid to the design of the magnetic bead separation blocks resulting in a reduction in collection times and bead loss during washing. If we don't have a separation block to fit your plate we will custom build one for you.

Manual Use with Pipetting
V&P Magnetic Bead Separation Blocks are designed so that the magnetic beads are collected in a location that is optimal for manually pipetting the liquid. The strong magnets in V&P Block hold the magnetic beads in place while pipetting.

Manual Use with Handheld Flick-n-Blot Magnetic Bead Separation Blocks
The VP 771HH series Handheld Magnetic Separation Block were designed so the liquid contents of the wells could be removed by simply decanting or “flicking” the contents into a waste container and blotting off the remainder on absorbant paper.

VP 771L-1
The VP 771L-1 is a PCR Microplate Adapter for use with the Tecan Hydroflex plate washer. The Tecan Hydroflex was designed for use with standard 96 well microplates but not 96 PCR microplates. The VP 771L-1 Microplate Adapter positions a PCR microplate securely over the magnets in the plate washer tray. The bottom of each well is directly on top and touching the magnet so that the beads are pulled to the bottom.

VP 771Z-384
The VP 771Z-384 Pipette Tip Guide is designed for when a multi-channel pipette is used to process a magnetic bead assay in a 384 well plate. This adjustable Tip Guide allows the distance that the pipet tips go into the well to be raised or lowered. This controls the tip as it enters the well, so that the bead pellet is not disturbed.
The guide’s four “feet” rest on the MagSep Block’s registration base and the guide plate can be raised and lowered by adjusting the “leg” height.
