The Fu-Meei Registration System provides
an efficient way of making identical DNA blots on multiple
small membranes (xeroxing). It has its own built in
three pin spindle system (VP 440) for registering the
Replicator to the membrane that also registers the blots to
locating (reference/spindle) holes punched in the membrane.
The locating hole features allows image
analysis equipment convenient reference features to locate and
identify positive blots. Furthermore our custom paper punch (VP
441) is a convenient way to punch holes in
many nylon membranes (VP 502) simultaneously and place a
hundred or more of them on the three pin spindle for blotting. The spacing of the hole pattern also is used to orient the user
to location of the blots, right from left and top from bottom.
The MULTI-PRINT™ (VP
382F) is placed on top of the three pin
spindle (VP 440) and any
MULTI-BLOT™
Replicator may be used to make blots on the membranes. Once the
blot is made, simply remove the MULTI-PRINT™, top membrane and separation
paper, replace the MULTI-PRINT™ and
repeat the blotting process. It is as simple as 1, 2, 3.
Depending upon the application, you can
make blots from 0.1 ul to 10.0 ul with our MULTI-BLOT™ Replicators. We recommend
the 1 ul 384
Slot Pin MULTI-BLOT™ Replicator (VP
384S) and nylon membranes (VP 502) for
maximum blot size and resolution. When using 96 well plates you
may find it desirable to use larger volume
Slot Pin Replicators.
The
Fu-Meei
Registration System may also be used to make high density arrays
by using MULTI-PRINTS that have a 2 by 2 array alignment pattern
(VP 382F1) for 384 Pin MULTI-BLOT™ Replicators, a 3 by 3 array
alignment pattern (VP 382F2), and 4 by 4 array alignment pattern
(VP 382F3) for 96 Pin MULTI-BLOT™ Replicators. When making high
density arrays we recommend that you use the
VP 409 MULTI
BLOT™ Replicator or
VP 386 MULTI-BLOT™
Replicator.
If you are transferring DNA, cDNA or other materials in
hydrophobic solutions you will find that using our new V&P Pin Cleaning
