Although this mounting plate is compatible with PerkinElmer MiniTrak, PlateTrak and EP3 Robots we recommend that you use the special pin resetting mount sold by PerkinElmer or our non-pin resetting mount with rotational adjustment feature.  Please also note that the PerkinElmer pin tools have floating frames with different attachment sites and different  dimensions from our standard floating frames.  These differences allow them to be used with specific docking stations on the PerkinElmer robots.

The rotationally adjustable Mounting Plate for hook mount plates.
  The photo on the right illustrates the bottom of a Carl Creative Systems Hook Mount plate that has been modified so it can be rotationally adjusted.  When customers use the BMPMULTIMEK with a 1536 pin tool they need to be able to make very fine rotational adjustments so the pins are placed in the center of the wells.  It is essential when using on 1,536 well plates.   We also recommend using it on the 384 pin tools when positional accuracy is necessary.  The BMPMULTIMEKR allows you to do that.

BMPTECAN384 (series of -10, -11 and -12)

     
 

The BMPTECAN384 (ordered as a BMPTECAN384-10, BMPTECAN384-11, or BMPTECAN384-12), is a Basic Mounting Plate for Pin Tools used on a Tecan Freedom EVO robotic instrument with the MCA384 Head. Each of the three BMPTECAN384s has a magnetic ID on the top surface that identifies for the EVO the specific BMP in use and by association the specific Pin Tool that is attached.

 
 

The BMPTECAN384 is attached to the Pin Tool via the black BMPMID bridge plate, which is included with the BMPTECAN384 (both shown in photo to the right).

 
 
 

The BMPTECAN384 attached to the Pin Tool is used with the VP 550E Docking Station, as shown in the photo to the right. The VP 550E is first positioned on the EVO deck and the BMPTECAN384 plus Pin Tool is set on top. In this configuration, the MCA384 Head can pick up and drop off the Pin Tool on the fly via the attached BMPTECAN384.

 
 
 

The third photo on the right shows how the Tecan MCA384 Head picks up the Pin Tool via the BMPTECAN384.

Perkin Elmer Rotational Mounts and Hamamatsu standard mounts, require a similar but different Bridge plate to attach to the Perkin Elmer floating fixtures.  This plate is provided at no extra charge with the above mentioned mounting systems.

Our Robotic floating Pin Tools can easily be converted to a manual pin tool with this simple BGPK  kit which contains a Guide Pin Frame with 16.75 mm long guide pins (BGP) and a handle with a sturdy mounting plate (BMPM)  The guide pins are used with our Library Copier (VP 381N) and membrane registration accessories (VP 382 and VP 382B) to keep the pins in the center of the wells and to make high density arrays on membranes or agar surfaces. If you already have a manual pin tool you can easily reverse the process and attach it to a robot mounting plate.

BGPKL

     
 


The BGPKL kit is used when longer replicator pins are used like the Pins for Floating Pin Replicators pins which are 63 mm long.   A pin tool with FPAM pins is illustrated in the photo to the right.   In order to accommodate these longer pins we need to use a longer and more sturdy guide pin found on the BGPL frame.  These larger guide pins are 3.17 mm in diameter.

Each of the kits on the right (BGPKL and BGPK) is made up of a handle, a manual mounting plate and a guide pin frame.  The guide pin frame is the only  difference between the two kits. If you already have a manual pin tool you can easily reverse the process and attach it to a robot mounting plate.
